Everyone knows the story of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This science experiment is a fun take on the story and also teaches the kids about kindness.
Materials
- Plastic water bottle
- Green balloon
- Baking soda
- Vinegar
- Sharpie marker
- Funnel
Explanation
When the baking soda mixes with the vinegar, it cases a chemical reaction which releases gas. The gas fills the balloon causing it to expand.
Application
The Grinch was being very selfish and wanted to ruin Christmas. His plan was ruined, however, when he saw the joy of the Whos in Whoville. We can help people’s hearts expand as well by being joyful and spreading the love of Jesus. When we do this even the grumpiest heart is sure to expand.
