The bible story of Jesus walking on water is a standard Sunday school lesson. Try the drama and activity below to teach this lesson to your 9-11 year olds.
Sunday School Lesson for “Jesus Walks on Water”
Bible Story:
Have several students read Matthew 14: 25-31 out loud until the passage has been read.
Drama Activity:
Have the students get into pairs. Have each pair take on the roles of Peter and Jesus from the story. First have them act out the story as it is told in the Bible. Then have them act out the story as if Peter had not lost faith.
Sunday School Lesson Discussion:
Ask the students why Peter began to sink. Ask them about some of the hard things that they have had to deal with. Emphasize to them that even during those hard times or storms we need to keep our eyes on Jesus.
Sunday School Lesson Activity:
Give each student a piece of paper with the following word bank and list of scrambled words and have them unscramble them:
