Sunday School Teacher Training – The Twelve Spies
This is an idea I took from one of my Sunday school teacher training courses. I found that my 12-14 year olds learned more from the interaction and the activity while discussing the Sunday school lesson. This lesson is so relevant for teens to understand that they can overcome the giants in life that seem overwhelming and to help others.
Bible Reading:
Have the students read the story of The Twelve Spies from Deuteronomy 1: 19-46.
Activity:
Have the students act the story out.
Art:
Make bookmarks.
Need: Paper
Scissors
Markers or crayons
Precut strips of 2 inches by 8 inches. Have the students depict something important from the bible story on a bookmark.
Activity:
Have the students write down similarities and differences between a giant and God as a class.
Discussion:
Ask the students how we can get strength.
