Here are some ideas for discussions and activities to teach the Sunday school Moses lesson to your 6-8 year olds. Use this lesson to show them how special they are and how much they are loved by God.Sunday School Moses

Bible Story:
Tell the story of baby Moses in a language that this age can understand.  Be sure that it is a simplified version; the verse selection is Exodus 2: 1-10.  There are several picture versions in children’s Bibles that are appropriate.

Here is one suggestion:
Baby Moses
Now the Israelites prospered and grew in population while living in Egypt. After  a long time a new king who did not know about Joseph came to power. He made the  Israelites work hard at slave labor. The Pharaoh (Egyptian King) was worried about the Israelites becoming too strong and so he gave an order to all his people:
“Every (Israelite) boy that is born you must throw into the Nile.”

Discussion:  We are important.
Moses was loved so much, that his mom saved him by putting him in the basket and letting pharaoh’s daughter raise him.  God loves you that much too.  How does God show you that he loves you and wants you to be saved?  How do your families let you know that you are important to them?

Activity:
Cut construction paper into 1 inch strips for the students.  Have them weave their own basket out of the paper strips.  Then have them draw a picture of a baby to put inside their baskets.
