Sunday School Ideas – Edible Necklace
During this time of year, Sunday school teachers are often in search of Sunday school ideas for Christmas. Here is a craft that is usually used closer to Thanksgiving but can be used for any time of year.
This easy craft is great for lessons in abundance, such as Thanksgiving or even during the summer when fruits and flowers are blooming in abundance. It’s often called a Thanksgiving Necklace, and children should be reminded to be thankful for all the food we have in our great country each time they take a bite.
Needed:
•Shoe string licorice, one piece for each child (and several extras in case one breaks)
•Small lifesavers, multi-colored or mint, six for each child
Instructions: Have children wash their hands, then:
1.Pick up their shoe lace licorice piece and try to tie a knot in the very center
2.One either side of the knot, string one life saver
3.Tie two more knots, one on the outside of each life saver.
4.String on two more lifesavers
5.Repeat one more time, so there are six lifesavers on the string.
6.Tie necklace around their necks.
