Here are more Sunday school ideas that have been successful when planning my Sunday school class structure.  I use the concept of the buddy system for attendance as well as for prayer partners.

Sunday School Ideas for Teachers: Implement A Buddy System for Attendance & Prayer

Sunday School Class StructureGiving your Sunday school students a buddy in the class will promote accountability and give them a great example of how to interact with a partner, a useful tool later on for things like Sunday school prayer partners.

Pair students up and tell them that their job is to make sure that their buddy remembers the homework assignment and follows the rules.  This should not turn into a tattle-tale system, where you hear a constant stream of “he didn’t do this right!”  The partners should gently remind each other when they are doing something wrong, such as forgetting to clean up the work area at the end of class.
