Games for Sunday School – John The Baptist

I find that using games for Sunday school classes is a great way to keep the attention of the 6-8  year olds.  Use this idea when teaching the lesson of John the Baptist to your kids.Games for Sunday School

Bible Story:
Tell the story of John the Baptist (Matthew 3: 1-17). You can use a children’s bible or just tell it in such a way that this age group can understand.

Discussion:
Ask the children if they ever tell their friends about God. Talk about why it is important for us to let others know about God and how He wants us to live.

Activity:
Play John Says (like Simon Says). If John doesn’t say, then they don’t do it.

Here are ideas for the game:
-Touch your nose
-Jump three times
-Turn around
-Shake your head
-Hug a friend
Let each child have the opportunity to be “John.”
