For all Christians, [tag]Easter Sunday[/tag] is a day of joy and celebration.  Sunday school crafts are a great way to celebrate this joy!

This [tag]free Sunday school Easter craft[/tag] is not intended to overshadow [tag]Easter[/tag] messages about the [tag]resurrection[/tag].  Rather, it gives a nice way for kids to take home a few extra pieces of Easter candy and a colored egg.  Children will be making Easter baskets that look like a bunny.

Sunday School Crafts Series: “Dixie Cup Easter Baskets”

Needed:
-large white paper or plastic cups, one for each child
-white and pink pastel construction paper, one for each child
-black or brown hole punches for bunny eyes, two for each child
-small white pompoms (or cotton balls cut in half) for bunny nose, two for each child
-white pipe cleaners for bunny whiskers
-scissors
-glue sticks
-stapler
-easter grass
-M&Ms or chocolate eggs, small

Before class:
1.Cut pink pastel paper so it fits around each cup
2.Holding the paper in place, stable it around the cup but sticking one side of the cup into the stapler’s mouth and putting in three staples: at the top, middle and bottom along the line of the paper.
3.Punch holes in black paper for eyes
4.Cut pipe cleaner into inch long pieces, six pieces for each child
5.Create bunny ears freehand on white sheets, approx. 4-inches long, two for each child
6.Cut out bunny ears
7.Create inner bunny ears freehand on pink sheets, approx 3-inches long, same shape as outer ears
8.Cut out inner bunny ears

Instructions:  Have students…
1.Glue on bunny eyes, at the halfway point between the top and bottom of covered cup
2.Just below, glue on white pompom for the bunny nose
3.Glue pieces of pipe cleaner going out from pompom, three on each side to make whiskers
4.Glue pink part of ears to white part of ears
5.Glue ears to the back of the cup
6.Fill with Easter grass
7.Put in a few candies and a colored egg if you have made them
