We all know that keeping your students attention can sometimes be a challenge. Using these free Sunday school crafts to teach a lesson works with all ages. Here is one geared for ages 8-14. You can use this to teach the theme of Fishers of Men and how God wants us all to be fishers of men and spreading God’s word.
Sunday School Crafts: “Fishers of Men Decoration”
Supplies Needed:
Paper
Pipe Cleaners (or wire)
Yarn
Tape
Pencils
Tell children to draw a picture of a fish on paper. Keep the picture simple, as it will be duplicated by pipe cleaners bent into place.
Tape three pipe cleaners together to provide extra strength if you do not have sturdy bendable wire to use. Bend the wires to model the fish picture that was
drawn. Use extra wires, as needed.
Choose one or more yarn colors to wind around the pipe cleaners. Use several threads together as you wind them about the wires to make it go faster. Tie a knot when you have finished the entire fish and knot in place.
When the pipe cleaners are bent into an acceptable position, carefully wind one or more yarn colors around and around the wire, making the picture or symbol much sturdier.
Use another small piece of yarn to tie a small loop at the top so that it can be hung.
Encourage kids to hang their fish in a window, on a Christmas tree, on a doorknob or even just a hook to remind them that Jesus wants us all to be fishers of men.
