Try this children’s Bible craft idea when you are planning your next class. Most Sunday school students enjoy doing a craft that reinforces a lesson. It can be used with many different Bible passages. I have indicated two of them below but I’m sure you will find others as well.
Bible passage:
Psalm 74:16 “The day is yours, and yours also the night; you established the sun and moon.”
OR
Genesis 1:14 “And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years’”

Craft: Create a paper plate that looks like the sun
Materials: Paper plates, crayons/markers, scissors, construction paper, glue/tape
1. Each student should take a paper plate and face it down, so that the hollow part of the plate is facing the table.
2. Students should color the entire plate yellow, or a mixture of yellow, orange, and red to sym-bol-ize the sun.
3. Students should draw a face in the middle of the plate to make the sun appear happy.
4. Around the entire edge of the plate, students should lightly color 1 inch of the plate brown, to give the sun more depth and color.
5. Students should glue different colored feathers underneath the plate to resemble the sun’s rays. Most students will want to choose red, yellow, and orange feathers.
6. Students can finish decorating the plate however they wish; some may want to write the Bible verse or their name on the plate.
