To continue your [tag]youth Bible study lessons[/tag] from the [tag]Book of Judges[/tag] and the story of Deborah and Jael, try this activity with your older [tag]Sunday school[/tag] students.

Before your Sunday school class, find a kid’s catalog or magazine with kids the same age as your own and cut out the heads. Or go online and surf Google for pictures of kids’ faces.  One great way to do this is to type in the search line,”Kids hairstyles.” It will immediately bring up hundreds of faces of very different looking kids. Save a dozen or so to your hard drive.

Who Looks Like a Friend?

Print the pictures out or cut them out and put them on a page that says at the top: “Who would you pick for your friends and why?”

Have them point out kids they think they might be friends with and ask the reasons. It could be anything from “age” to “this one looks too weird” to “this one just looks nice.

At the end of the session tell them:(Teacher words in bold)
The truth is, you can’t tell which of these kids would be your friend. You can’t judge a book by its cover, because things are always different than they appear. That’s what we’ll be talking about today.
