The [tag]Bible study[/tag] lesson of [tag]Moses’s birth[/tag] and his mother’s courage to do what was right to protect him is a valuable lesson for many situation.  When we are faced with a scary choice it is better to do something than to do nothing.

Bible Study – Moses’ Mom’s Courage & Us

When Moses was just a few months old Moses’ mother had a scary choice. If she did nothing, her son Moses would be killed by bad men. If she did something, it was risky and he still might die. But something was better than nothing.

The following Bible study ctivity will help to teach  your [tag]Sunday school[/tag] students  how to deal with the difficult decisions they often face.

Bible Study Activity:

Cut up slips of paper and write situations on them. Have the children draw one out of a hat and give an honest answer. As answers arise, the group can discuss them.

Use these questions and add to them if you wish:
– You’re on a school bus. The kids in the back are shouting mean things to a quieter kid who has few or no friends. Would you do nothing? How might you show courage?
– There’s a girl in your class who never does her homework, especially in math. On the day of the test math test, she sits beside you, and you feel her looking on your paper every minute or so, stealing your answers. Would you do nothing? How might you show courage?
– Your mom has told you many times that if you don’t confront certain people, they won’t respect you. There’s a bully on the playground who keeps calling you names. You’re afraid if you confront him, it will cause him to start a fight, and you don’t want that either. How do you handle him?
– A girl in your class is handing out party invitations. She invites some girls and skips others, not seeming to care who sees or gets hurt. Your best friend doesn’t get an invitation. Do you do nothing? How might you show courage?
– Your two best friends get in a fight and have been giving each other the silent treatment for two days. You’ve been doing your best to not get involved. Finally one of them says to you, “Choose. You can be friends with me or her.” What do you do?
