Idea Starter: Great Scriptures to Use with Easy Crafts

The Sunday between Christmas and New Year is a time when teachers and students alike just want to relax! So much preparation went into the Holidays; many families are away, and classes are small. As well, Holiday budgets run short after Christmas.

11 Easy Ways to Use Scriptures for New Years Crafts

One great idea is to use scriptures that apply to the New Year to create easy and inexpensive New Years crafts. You can present the scriptures to your students (they’re included below), discuss how we can apply them in the New Year, and let them pick favorites. They can put those scriptures on on easy craft.

Here are some ideas of easy New Years crafts where you can apply scripture verses:

1. Rocks for paperweights

2. Little wooden or foam crosses (which often go 75% off Christmas Eve!)

3. Scrolls, made of gold or silver wrapping paper, tied up with a bow

4. Frames made out of felt or construction paper

5. Paper plates that make wall hangings

6. Refrigerator magnets made out of a clothes pin that grips the scripture

7. Crowns that they can wear home

8. Mobiles made out of a coat hanger, string and cut outs

9. Jigsaw puzzles with the scripture written out (and kids cut them up)

10. Traced hands that make leaves of flowers or wreaths

11. Paper doilies that make snow flakes

Below are some scriptures to bring in the New Year with hope and promise. Have your students pick their favorite for a New Years craft that’s fun, simple, and inexpensive:
